Plymouth to Santander out, Caen to Portsmouth back, 4,731 miles in three weeks. One crash (Geoff, my riding partner on the first day), two breakdowns (my Ducati in Spain, bad earth, Chubby's 1200 GS in France, shaft drive bust - who says BMWs are reliable, ho ho!) and two contributions to the Gendarmerie (Sye and John in France). Plus my discovery of tapas, kosher Spaghetti western sets and the amazing Mosque at Cordoba. This was truly close to a heavenly trip!
