A shorter trip this year, and an attempt to find some bases in the north west, followed by a mosey around the Soria area - a bit further south, but still north of Madrid. So stayed in Cangas de Onis for the first few nights (and found some wonderful roads), then headed inland south and east, ending up in Santa Domingo de Silos. Another town on the Camino route, so pricey, pretty, but the roads there nothing like as good the Picos. So in future I'll stick to the top and bottom edges of Spain - scenery and roads are better, and it's not as hot!
